the concept was derived as a means to visually express the song’s thematic, which talks of the distorting power of denial and how its release allows one to finally see what had already been there all along. all it takes is a shift in perspective…

for the project, 140 directors from around the world filmed a continuous 140 second shot in their home city, all at the same time. the film's theme is 'connection', the project asking its directors to film whatever connects them to them home, and what connects its inhabitants to each other. the films will be edited together by its spearhead, frank kelly, to constitute a lyrical feature length film.

the signal was given at 8PM GMT on 21 june, which translated to 6AM 22 june melbourne time. it was cold and it was early...but it was very fun!

we are thrilled to be back in the soundKILDA line up again this year. as always it promises to be an awesome night: thursday 28 may, 9PM at the george cinema in st kilda, melbourne.
